DIY Paper Pennant Garland :)
DIY Paper Pennant Garland, a loooooong overdue request is finally here :P
Very simple and easy to make - Triangle shaped garland for your room decoration!
Supplies:
- 6x6 inch (15.2cm x 15.2cm) paper pad
- Ruler
- Pencil (anything you can mark your paper with)
- Scissors
- String
- Tape
Steps:
- Choose papers from the paper pad of your choice!
- Mark the half point (which is exactly 3 inch) - it becomes bottom vertex of your triangle
- Fold the top - about 2 cm should be enough
- Draw the line from the half point (from step 2) to the far left corner as shown
- Do the same for the far right corner as well
- CUT!
- Fold the paper as shown
- Cut off the excess
- Place a string
- Tape the paper! One Pennant! Done! :)
The length of garland is totally up to you. Think of how many pennants / colors / patterns you want to put together. Be creative and have fun :)
Chalk board hand lettering / hand drawing
It's Luke 2:14, and it says,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” in Korean. It's written / drawn on the door of my church's toddler ministry room (the door is painted with chalk board paint). During the service, Bible Verse Man appears and do the motions shown to memorize the Bible Verse of the Month with our toddlers.
Repitition! 2 year old toddler CAN memorize the Bible verse with cute motions :)

Personalized Wedding Invitations
My brother got married to a woman with the warmest heart in October, 2013 :)
I wanted to give them something special, so I designed/hand crafted their wedding invitations and programs!
Behind Story:
- I made it as a little book to invite guests to be part of the couple's next chapter.
- Envelopes: I chose two colors, aubergine and peacock......just for fun twist!
- 1st page: I did a short photo shoot for it (holding hands) and I love how it really made the invitations personalized.
- 2nd page: the inviting message in two languages.
- 3rd page: map / RSVP instruction.
- Back cover: flowers were hand drawn by me (thanks to Jun, he made it as vector!!).

Event Decor by Cottony Craft: Pink & Black Themed Banquet
Event Decor by Cottony Craft!
The New Church of Atlanta, Young Adults Banquet in 2013: Theme of the year was "pink and black." Decoration material budget was super tight....it was under $100. Coffee filter papers dyed in pink became flowers and doilies on tables, and patterned papers became drape garlands AND photo backdrop. Budget friendly ideas finished right! :) Around 80 guests attended and 12 tables were ready.

And special thanks to Ryan + Sunny <3

Meet Baby J
Meet Baby J!
Oh his beautiful odd eyes and cute pink nose! Our family found him at the backyard in 2009. We searched and found the owner after few days but the owner refused to keep him and asked us if we were willing to "buy" him..... He is with us ever since :) We've gone through lots of troubles together but one thing never changes: he is the sweetest and he truly has my heart :D
Debranded Monitor Makeover with Martha Stewart Crafts ® Gilding Sheets
My brother bought debranded computer monitor and because it was debranded, the logo was removed and covered with permanent ink. So, he tried to remove the ink with acetone and apparently, it wiped off permanent ink AND silver plating from the monitor.
To “Ironmanize” his monitor, I used:
1. Martha Stewart Crafts ® Gilding Adhesive (it’s basically a glue)
2. Martha Stewart Crafts ® Gilding Sheets (Gold)
3. Paper masking tape
4. Sponge brushes
5. Martha Stewart Crafts ® Paints (Satin, Red)
Steps to Ironmanize your monitor:
1. Prepare first. Using the masking tape, cover where you don’t want any gilding excess to get into.
2. Apply Adhesive with sponge brush and make sure you get it done THIN AS POSSIBLE.
3. Wait till it becomes little sticky and clear.
4. Cover the surface with Gilding Sheets – lay them on the surface and remove its wax backing sheet.
5. Continue to add gilding sheets until entire surface is covered.
6. When finished, wait overnight so it dries COMPLETELY!
7. Using dry and clean sponge brush, brush over the surface to remove the excess giling.
8. Take off the masking tapes and decorate with paints.

Sea Shell Terrarium
A beach girl in sea shell terrarium!
A beach girl = Made with Shrink Film! :)
(What's Shrink Film? http://cottonycraft.blogspot.com/2014/07/shrink-film-fun.html)
Image 1. Paint lid with mint colored nail polish.
Image 2. It shows only 1 coated lid. Apply 2-3 coats so you can get solid coverage and perfect color.
Image 3. Cardboard + blue tissue paper. It's waves! Place it into the jar first as it's shown (cardboard up). Then, insert a beach girl + sea shells into the jar.
Image 4. Use scrap piece of Shrink Film as an anchor of a beach girl.
Image 5. It shows the back of a beach girl. It's showing how I folded and taped the scrap piece of Shrink Film.
Shrink Film Fun!
What's Shrink Film?
It's basically thin plastic sheets that shrinks into smaller, thicker, and harder plastic pieces!
You will need:
- Permanent markers
- Scissors
- Shrink Film
- Parchment paper
- Cookie sheet
- Conventional or toaster ovens (even an embossing tool works but NOT with microwave ovens)
Steps:
1. Draw on the film. You can also trace any drawings or pictures.
2. Cut out your drawings. (**Pre-heat oven between 300-350 F (I baked mine at 285 F))
3. Place them on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
4. Bake them for 2-3 minutes until flat or shrinking has stopped.
5. Have fun with them! - Woo, I made Coli and Georgia (my friends' lovely dogs) badge set! :)

Sculpey Clay Bear Figures, Frame Craft, and More!
Ever since I was little, I loved to mold and create super tiny miniatures with clay (see the picture in third row). And a bear was my friend who appeared in every piece of my doodling. Many many years later, I found about Sculpey, the oven baking clay (you can find them at any local craft stores like Hobby Lobby or Michael's). With Sculpey, I began to create personalized (portraying) bear figures, frames, badges, refrigerator magnets, (and more) as a special gift for the speical people I dearly love. I didn't get to keep all the pictures but here are some :D
*I only buy primary colors (red, blue, yellow), white, and black - and mix them to get the color I want. In this way, you can save so much $$ and your imagination won't get limited by color choices!
